Stomping Ground: May-June-2021

We returned to camp for what we think will be the last time before staff shows up in mid-June and campers the end of June. The week started with near freezing overnight temperatures and ended with temperatures in the high eighties. Pam painted everyday, starting indoors with the shelves in the arts and crafts area, moving to the trim on the newest cabins and then when the poring of the porch pads made that impossible she moved to turning the main doors to the dining room orange. I installed the tankless hot water system to the “Getaway” which is the building that got moved onto site a few weeks earlier and will become the infirmary. Then I electrified the waterfront area and hung doors to make the converted cabins livable and got the first door up in the newest cabins. The Stomping Ground crew had been busy getting the Getaway ready with internal walls, reworked electrical and insulation (Jesse had been at camp for a few days roughing in plumbing for the two baths). A ton of painting/staining also got done getting the lean-tos converted to mini-cabins and the new docks were installed.
