Beach:Finish attic 1993/93

After putting in central heat we wanted to extend the season but the upstairs of the original cottage was completely unfinished. We loved the comfy feel of the old rough wood and wanted to some how preserve it. So we insulated between the 24 inch on center rafters with 4 inch foam panels covered in dry wall held up with rough cut trim leaving the rafter edges exposed. We then finished the knee walls dormer and tiny closets with unfinished resawn 2x6 I got my lumber company to cut into planks. The result made for a very comfortable master bedroom. Most importantly it let us live at the lake for my sabbatical in 1993/94. One of the very best years ever! Regrettably I’ve only found one picture from what would be a short period with the attic finished.
